Back to School Beauty Tips for Teens

For all of the teens waking up at the crack of dawn to catch the 6am bus, this blog is for you!  Looking this beautiful, this early, never felt so good!

Your skin and hair are so tired from all of that sun and pool this summer!
Start your school year off by getting your hair in shape with a de-chlorinating shampoo (we love
Malibu C swimmers wellness!) paired with a deep conditioning treatment (we love Malibu C miracle repair!).

A quick style for those on the run:

Take all of your hair and pull into a loose side pony.  Braid to the ends & tie off.  Take your hands and pull the braid apart from the sides to expand it and make it "messy".  Top it off with a flower or cute bandana and you are all set to hit the hallways!

Rejuvenate the skin by exfoliating & don't forget to moisturize!  A quick makeup application to make tired eyes look bright:

Start with a tinted moisturizer (don't forget to check for SPF!), use bright shimmery shadow on the lid to brow bone (2 colors work best, keeping the darker of the 2 in the crease and outer edges), brown pencil liner (black will have the tendency to make eyes appear smaller), 1 coat of mascara (we are loving False Lashes by MAC!) add a touch of tinted lip gloss and voila!  You have yourself a 5 minute makeup application and are ready to show off those beautiful eyes of yours!

Skin Care Do's & Don'ts before saying 'I Do!'

Planning a wedding is a project itself, but don't forget about preparing your skin in the months leading up to your big day!!  Studio Verve has created a list of skin care do's and don'ts for the months leading up to your wedding day to ensure that your skin is clear and glowing as you say 'I Do!'

Skin Care DO'S
  • DO start monthly facials 6 months prior to your wedding date and up to 2 weeks prior
  • DO cleanse, moisturize & protect your skin every day!!  (Sunscreen is a MUST!!)
  • DO exfoliate weekly in the months leading up to your wedding and up to 10 days prior
  • DO use cool compresses 1-2 times a week to rid eyes of puffiness, this may be done the night before the wedding as well!
  • DO all waxing 10 days prior to the wedding date, especially on sensitive skin!

Skin Care DON'TS
  • DON'T go for a glycolic peel sooner than 1 month to your wedding date
  • DON'T get in the habit of picking at your skin, this will only create scars!
  • DON'T forget your sunscreen!!!
  • DON'T wax sooner than 10 days prior to the wedding date!!

Does it matter where I buy my hair products?

Yes it does! You should always purchase your hair products from a professional salon or beauty supply in order for the product to be guaranteed.

If you purchase your professional brand hair products at places such as CVS, Walmart, Target, Harmon's, Walgreens, Marshall's, TJ Maxx, etc. you are more than likely purchasing counterfeit, expired, damaged, watered down product. Companies like Sexy Hair, Aveda, Redken, Coppola, etc do not distribute to these places! Don't be fooled.

However, when you purchase your products from a professional salon you not only are GUARANTEED that product but you are also receiving a personal recommendation specific to your hair type by a professional!

Also, please put down the Pantene pro V, Garnier Fructis, Suave, etc ladies....long term they are HORRIBLE for your hair! Products of this sort only coat the hair and cause more harm than good.

Always consult with your stylist for the best options for your hair!
